An Inspirational Story By Sadhguru

Listening and learning from other’s experiences is another great way to gain strength in tough times.

Here the story start…

It was the year 1941 when the Nazi movement was at a rising peak in Germany and had spread to various parts of Europe as well.

It was all a hot mess when the Germans broke into the homes of rich Austrian families and robbed everything including the families as well.

At that time, the two children an 8-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl were taken away to the station with others.

This was November end when weather become very cold and chill. They were kept to the railway station for the 3 days because the train didn’t come.

Very soon, the little boys started playing football with other kids and suddenly the train come.

When the train came, soldiers rushed everybody to the train. These two children also entered the wagon along with other peoples.

But in hurry, this little boy forgot to wear his shoes. As they push him into the wagon, so, he couldn’t pick up his shoes.

His sister, saw him coming to the train without wearing shoes. She become enormously mad with him.

She yelled at him and said, “You idiot! Already we are in enough trouble, now you come without shoes. What is the matter with you? Don’t you realize in Germany no shoes means no feet in this weather?”

The boy remained quiet and said nothing.

At the very next station the boys and girls were separated and after that, the sister did not get to see her brother at all.

Four years later, when the war was over, she came out from the concentration camp to find 17 members of her family including her little brother.

But all had vanished. The records was missing as if no sign of them.

At that time, the only thing that bother her most was – the last few things that she said to her little brother.

That was such a terrible thing for her. It rang her mind and she regretfully thought, “How rude I was with my brother when the last time I left his hand”?

After that, the sister vowed, “From now whenever I speak to anyone it will be as if I am speaking my last words to them.”

This one thing has transformed her life in a great way. With this thought, she gained that power and strength in her life and moved forward doing great philanthropy activities that led her to live a fruitful life with good deeds.

The story tell us even if we put through the most horrible situation, either we can come out using that experience as the better human being or we can use that experience to become a horrible mess.

So, whenever something hurt you, there are always two options – Either you can become wounded or wise. The choice is yours.

But unfortunately most people becomes wounded. This is simple because they just need an excuse to turn on their own intelligence against them. Even if the world against you, don’t you think your own intelligence should work for you.

“Always use your experience to become wiser.”
